The majority of the profits of this event will benefit the Janky Barge Burning Man Collective, and Nexus Camp.
For those of you who joined us for Tipper's sublime silent set on Mother's Day, we don't really have to explain a lot. For those of you who missed it, or who have never experienced a "Silent Disco" it works like this: 2 DJs will be playing simultaneously on separate channels. Attendees will be issued unique, cutting edge wireless headphones (the Top o' the Line models doled out by Silent Events inc and featured this year at Bonnaroo and Camp Bisco) and will be able to switch back and forth between 2 channels. The range of the transmission can be as much as 200 yards, so in the case of the Mothers Day event, folks were able to dance all the way down at the water's edge while the DJ's rocked the Ocean beach parking lot. Some of the comments were "Most magical event I have experienced.... ever...." and "I didn't think this was possible..."
Also note that since there are only 400 headphones available, space is limited and the event WILL SELL OUT. Furthermore, there will be NO WALKUP sales. The location will remain a secret except to ticketbuyers due to our commitment to minimize our impact on whichever of San Francisco's lovely outdoor locations we are lucky enough to inhabit. It will certainly be in the SF City Limits and accessible by public transit.
